We’ve been seeing Microsoft come out with all sorts of new tricks recently.  From the amount of effort they’ve been putting into containers, to announcing future SSH support, they’ve put on a new suit in the eyes of many long time Microsoft consumers.  Recently, they shocked everyone even more by letting us know they’ve been using a Linux derivative in their Azure cloud!

Microsoft has made the landmark announcement that they are using a Microsoft-contributed Linux derivative.  While this may have once been a story that would be seen on The Onion, and even spawned the parody MSLinux.org site, there is no joke about what is coming out of the Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Open Technologies teams.  Recent blogs also indicated that Linux was making more of an impact inside the Microsoft ecosystem than some may have realized (http://blogs.technet.com/b/windowsserver/archive/2015/05/06/microsoft-loves-linux.aspx).

Seem interesting?  You bet it is.  Check out the full article here on 24 x7 IT Connection!
